I hope
everyone -
In the States had a nice, safe Fourth, and
that those of you outside the US had a good weekend. I was
just happy when the city stopped setting off fireworks over my house
- it's distracting. :-P
Ya'll are in the homestretch of Drifter
- today sees the posting of part 24, which is the next to the last
section of the story. Next week will be the final bit.
June 29, 2008
I would like -
To celebrate anniversaries more often.
Even though my children are nearly adults and certainly behave like
grown-ups when we're in a public setting (they still act like
teenagers when we are home - go figure :-P), it's still nice to go
out without the kids. The dogs don't seem to understand that
concept though - you'd think we'd been gone for days the way they
act when we come home. Still, we had a wonderful evening
together. On that
note, part 23 of Drifter is up for you perusal. Two
parts til the end. :-) June 26, 2008
Sudden
formatting issues -
On the website are making me nuts... and it's
not like I need any impetus in that direction. <g> What I am
uploading from the hard drive is not what I'm seeing on the web page
- something is being lost in translation. I am working to
correct it but I'm not having a lot of luck so far. I'll keep
trying though.
Meanwhile, part 22 of Drifter is up. June 23, 2008
Late breaking
news -
A completely new story, Aftermath, is
now up. It was *supposed* to be a short story, but I sort of
lost control. It's a little different from the norm, but the
Storytellers' Cardinal Rule is in effect. I will be back later
in the week to add another part of Drifter unless something
drastic happens. There are
only a few more parts until ya'll are done. :-) June 22, 2008
We're very
close -
To the end of Drifter. I'm of
two minds about that - not surprising, considering I am a Gemini.
:-) On the one hand, it is always satisfying to complete a
story; on the other, Koko and Donoma have been wonderful characters
and I have enjoyed writing their story very much. However, I
do have several ideas already brewing for new stories, and that's a
good thing. There may
be an extra update this week as well. My husband and I will be
celebrating 20 years of marriage at some point and I feel like
sharing the celebration. It just depends on how how it goes
since my schedule is totally whacked this week.
However, part 21 of Drifter is now
posted for your enjoyment. June 18, 2008
Stopping by -
To add the extra Drifter update I
promised. Drifter is almost complete and should be
getting a 'THE END' from me very soon... probably in the next week
or so. I also have another completed uber that I will be
posting as soon as my betas are done with their final read-thru.
Aftermath was one of the stories I was writing concurrently
with Drifter. I think it turned out pretty well -
hopefully ya'll will too.
Meantime, here's part 20 of Drifter. June 15, 2008
Happy Father's
Day -
To my ever-patient husband and the father of
my two children. Not only does he put up with me, but he puts
up with a male carbon copy version as well as a miniature
DIVA-in-training edition. Kinda of scary to think there is
more than one of me running around in the world at the same time.
The man has the patience of a saint. Love you, babe!
On another note, Happy Birthday to me this
week. It used to be a running joke with my dad when my
birthday fell on Father's Day as to whose day it actually was - his
or mine. However, it's not on Sunday this year so I'm safe.
<g> So because I feel like it and because I can, ya'll can
have the present - I will post an extra update sometime this week.
For now though, enjoy part 19 of Drifter.
June 08, 2008
So starting
this week -
I'll be posting Drifter every week.
I am not officially done - which means I'm going to miss a personal
goal I had for posting the completed version of this story - but I
can actually see the end within just a few chapters. Since I
am several parts ahead of where ya'll are reading, I'm hoping this
will mean I'll be finished by the time ya'll catch up.
As a side note, one of the girls was kind
enough to point out a beach house that reminded her of Miss Kitty's
place while we were out on our sunset cruise a couple weekends ago.
Who knew a nineteenth century western madam had a multi-million
dollar property on the beach?? June 01, 2008
Spent Memorial
Day Weekend -
At the beach and it was simply lovely.
It was a girls' weekend, and we had a blast. Saw manatees,
sting rays and dolphins - rode wave runners and took a sunset
cruise. My only complaint was it didn't last long enough but I
think it is safe to say a good time was had by all.
I didn't get much writing done while I was
gone, but it certainly kicked things into gear when I got home.
So enjoy part 17 of Drifter. May 18, 2008
No... -
Drifter is not finished yet, though I
can see the light at the end of the tunnel. I am hoping it's
not a speeding freight train, but I guess we'll find out when we get
there. <g> No, the reason I am posting this weekend is because
I will be out of town with some of the girls next weekend, so I
decided to go ahead and update early instead of making ya'll wait an
extra week. Probably a smart move on my part as one of the
girls I'm hanging out with is reading in parts and not only does she
know where I live, she is also my ride. :-)
That being said, here is part 16 of Drifter. May 11, 2008
Happy
Mother's Day - To all the moms out there. I plan to
spend my day doing little more than sitting in the sun watching my
hair get lighter and my skin get darker - oh... and working on
Drifter of course. <g> I will start posting the parts every week
instead of every two once I have finished writing it. At the
rate I am going, I will be posting the end of Drifter very
close to putting up the completed versions of both Devil and
Aftermath. For
now, though, part 15 of Drifter is now available for your
reading pleasure. April 27, 2008
Spring cleaning -
It's that time of year again and though I love the results, I have
to admit I'm not particularly fond of the process it takes to get
there. I mean - I only have two working brain cells to start
with... somehow killing them off with bleach doesn't seem like the
smartest thing I could be doing at any time, but especially when I'm
in the middle of writing three different stories.
Fortunately, part 14 of Drifter was complete
before I started killing brain cells and is now up for your reading
pleasure. Enjoy! April 13, 2008
Bite me -
I discovered recently that you should be careful who you say that to
- some folks take it as an invitation. The girls and I were at
lunch together recently when talk turned to publishing. Since
I am the only one among the writers of us who does not publish,
another friend who joined us decided I needed persuading. In
the course of the discussion, I made the mistake of inviting her to
bite me... and she did!! Moral of the story - don't invite
unless you want to wear the bite! <g>
In other news, part 13 of Drifter is ready
and the other two stories I am currently working on are moving right
along. I am hoping to wrap up all three soon as I have an idea
for a multi-fandom story that could be a real hoot if I can get all
the parts to play together nicely. But that one is going to
have to be a singular focus sort of thing I'm afraid... we'll see -
lots and lots of pieces and parts involved in that one.
Meanwhile, enjoy your update! March

So we've had
the dogs - A
little over a year now, and I am convinced they are actually
groundhogs in dachshund clothing... judging from the number of holes
in my backyard. I wouldn't mind so much if they were chasing
love bugs or some equally annoying insect that is intent on
bothering me when I am sitting outside writing. Instead, they
are hunting for lizards and are absolutely convinced they will find
them underground for some reason. Fortunately, the lizards
seem to be smarter and faster most of the time.
At least they don't keep me from writing - part 12 of Drifter is now up.

I am not
completely happy - With the artwork page yet, but at
least I managed to get the verbiage up to give credit to the artists
who created such great covers. The problem is that what I am
seeing on my preview page is *not* what is showing up on the
website. So it is still a work-in-progress for me at this
point. Meanwhile I
have decided that there is no safe way to trim a tree with three
inch thorns, especially when all the branches that need trimming are
taller than I am even when I am standing on the ladder.
Fortunately, it only made a small hole in the top of my head and
Pink & Fluffy haven't found it yet so the writing continues at a
steady pace. :-)
That said - enjoy part 11
of Drifter.

Just stopping
by -
To add the cover to Drifter by Calli and the cover to
Remember When by Lucy Piper to the site. Many thanks,
ladies! I am not done with that task, but since I did manage
to get the images up without too many ugly words, I wanted to go
ahead and add them. I will figure out the verbiage thing
soon... I hope. Now I
am going back to writing. And can I just say how wrong, Wrong,
WRONG it is for characters to decided they're feeling frisky when I
am PMSing?!? Honestly... there ought to be a law!!! March 02, 2008
I'm
really glad -
February is over, 'cause that last bit just sucked wienies.
Here's hoping March is better. Meanwhile, part 10 of
Drifter is now up for your reading pleasure. February

Time for
another update -
Drifter is moving right along, despite attempts from certain
quarters to sabotage my efforts by giving me new things to read.
I have explained that I cannot write when I am reading, but she
insists I can multi-task. I've insisted I am absolutely going
to blame her if I fall behind in my writing... seems only fair she
share the blame. :-)
For the moment she's safe though... here is part 9 of Drifter. February

Dashing in -
to post this year's Valentine's Day story for those of you that read
Stargate:SG1. My hope is that each of you has someone special
to spend the day with. Though we will be together, my husband
and I do not celebrate this holiday. Instead, we try to go out
alone together at least once a month and he brings me fresh flowers
every couple weeks. We figure why limit the celebration to once a
year if we can do so much more often? :-)
I will be back Sunday to
post part 9 of Drifter. For now, enjoy Remember When.
February 03, 2008
Back
from LA - where the weather mostly cooperated and we got
to do quite a bit of touristy stuff. It was a lot of fun and I
think it is safe to say that my daughter could easily grow to like
'girls only' trips. <g>
The Valentine's ditty is done - I will post it
up on the 14th - and I have returned to writing Drifter. And
for those of you who haven't seen it, Calli created a *fabulous*
cover for it... posted on her site. It will be here as well,
as soon as I remember how to post it properly. It requires a
few more steps than uploading docs do and I don't do it often enough
to remember without a lot of trial and error first - the last time I
tried, the computer ran away from me screaming and it took me three
days to find it. So until then, I am going to focus on making
sure the writing lives up to the cover.
On that note, here is part 8 of Drifter. January
20, 2008
I am taking a
short break -
from Drifter and Devil (the SVU story) at the moment, so that I can
write a Valentine's Day story. It's going to be a Stargate:
SG1 tale for those of you that are interested. I am hoping to
have it completed before we leave for LA on Wednesday as I expect to
be fairly busy while we're there. I am not going to the con,
but will be attending the Bard's Dinner Sunday night - if any of you
will also be there, please make sure to say "Hi!" :-)
Not to worry, though - part 7 of Drifter
is complete and I am posting it for those of you who are reading in
parts. Enjoy! January

I was so
anxious to get outside
into the warm sunshine - I almost forgot I was supposed
to update Drifter today. I could probably claim brain
freeze - it's not supposed to get that cold in Florida, dammit!!!
Aren't there rules about this kind of stuff?!?
Anyway, here is part 6 of Drifter. |
